Jason has 24 years of combined police experience and is a 1st degree BJJ Black Belt in BJJ under Brian Marvin of Renzo Gracie Houston. Jason has extensive LEO experience and served as an SRT (Special Response Team) Team leader, a Criminal Investigator, and a Sgt. Jason was the lead DT Instructor for his department until he retired and has trained officers nationwide in defensive tactics. Jason eventually reached the rank of Lt, which he held until he retired in 2020.

Jason has trained in BJJ since 2007 and has competed at all levels throughout his BJJ Journey. Currently, Jason is the head instructor and owner of Renzo Gracie Austin in Austin, Texas.

Jason is the co-founder of Invictus. This organization encourages police officers to train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
