SUMMARY:C4C Police Jiu-Jitsu Two-Day Team Control\, Custody\, and Vehicle Extraction - Manhattan\, KS
DESCRIPTION:Control and Custody Course-Solo and Team Applications \nStudents will learn fundamental principles to effectively control the clinch\, execute takedowns\, and control a suspect on the ground until custody is achieved. Students will learn both solo and team tactics during the course. De-escalation\, communication between officers and suspects\, and effective low-level control options will be taught and trained.  \n  \nThe fundamental principles taught include the following: \n-The Four Foundational PJJ Principles \n-Three sub-categories to control any suspect \n-Fundamental principles to score a high percentage LEO based takedowns \n-Team tactics and communication to control suspects and achieve custody \n-Core ground control strategies to control suspects and achieve custody effectively and safely \n-Segmenting- The core PJJ System of safe and effective ground control \n-Wall control to custody if walls are available in the training environment \n-Dealing with suspect resistance in close quarters\, including attempted strikes\, attempted weapon grabs or presentations and refusing to obey verbal commands and present arms for handcuffing \n-A custody system based on dominant position and physical control as the primary delivery system as opposed to strikes or intermediate weapon systems \n  \nThe C4C PJJ Vehicle Extraction Tactics (C4CPJJ-VET) curriculum focuses on de-escalation\, communication\, vehicle assessment\, and team tactics to remove uncooperative suspects from vehicles. Decision factors include the vehicle’s mobility\, the crime committed\, the type of suspect vehicle\, and whether the suspect is known to be armed. Officers learn when to execute an extraction and\, just as importantly\, when patrol should not attempt a suspect extraction. Topics include communication details\, team tactics with specific roles for officers\, including team approach\, lethal coverage\, hands-on/extraction tactics\, and team custody details\, when to disengage\, not to perform an extraction\, or turn the situation over to a tactical team. The C4C VET course includes a PowerPoint chalk talk and lesson plan for attendees.  \n  \nAll curriculum complies with the use of force case law and LEO best practices of using reasonable force to overcome suspect resistance. The PJJ Control and Custody Course allow officers to physically control resisting suspects and gain custody through handcuffing resisting suspects using low-level physical force. \n\n\n\n\n\n**Course is available for Kansas State POST Training Hours**

SUMMARY:C4C Police Jiu-Jitsu Level One - Westlake\, OH
DESCRIPTION:C4C Police Jiu-Jitsu Level One \nA “game plan” or course curriculum comes with each level that can be used as the department’s exact defensive tactics (DT) curriculum or supplement a department’s current DT curriculum.  \nC4CPJJ Level 1 includes a bonus foundation level for officers who have no experience in DT or combatives. This foundational level material is perfect for an academy setting\, for officers in an FTO position\, or for police departments who do not have a current control/grappling curriculum and wish to transition to this type of training.  \nC4CPJJ is a complete DT system based on the LEO reasonable outcomes of control and then custody. The foundations level sets the foundation\, and level one allows officers to progress over time\, realizing growth in their personal ability within the DT program. As officers continue to improve and grow\, they will develop increased confidence\, capability\, control\, and compassion for subjects that they may have to use force on. It is NOT a simple BJJ lesson plan called “LEO” Training.” \nLevel 1 -course topics include: \n\n4 Fundamental Principles that every DT program should have 3 Fundamental Sub-Categories of Subject Control\nUse of force\nDecision making \nDe-escalation\nContact communication\nPunch defense\nControl in solo officer and team settings Takedowns and takedown defense\nGround control and ground defense\nHandcuffing\nWeapon retention\, weapon defense\, and more. \n\n\nInstruction and demonstration of effective teaching strategies:  \n\nSafely running combative training\nProven methods to plan a course or training day\nTeaching methodology that enhances student recall and performance in the field \n\n\nCourse Completion:  \nOfficers who successfully attend and complete the course will receive credit at the appropriate level. Students with extensive training\, coaching\, and LEO experience can be graded out higher by PJJ Instructors at a Level One course upon completion. Completing Level 2 or higher will authorize students to attend advanced C4CPJJ coursework (Level 3-5) in the future. Students are encouraged to use the curriculum from the training within their department and share and teach the same to other officers. Graduates are not certified to teach or represent C4CPJJ outside of department duties without invitation and written authorization from Chad Lyman. \n\n\n\n\n\nEnrollment: \nLimited to Active LEOs and Approved Civilians Only.
